Great post, Christine! Having the laws changed seems like a monumental task..and it is, but every person who chimes in makes a difference.
20 years ago, in a child custody case, custody almost ALWAYS went to the mother (not to mention the tender years doctrine that required small children to be in the mother's custody) whether or not she was the better parent or it was in the children's best interest. These days, no matter what anyone says..the playing field is much more level and a custody case could go either way. That is due to the father's rights movements. I'm sure some of those guys 20 years ago didn't think they had the power to change anything, but a little organization goes a long way.
Anyway...my two cents.
