TU alert: inquiries NOT disclosed on consumer disclosures

I can't figure out what TU is doing.

It looks like the TU report with the FICO score does NOT only list the inquiries used by Fair Isaac as with the Beacon. Too bad, was hoping we could see if they deduplicate properly.

Got 11 inquiries, but mostly mortgage and insurance, and inquiries are not one of the listed factors.

HOWEVER - I spent some time looking at the various reports, and I noticed that several inquiries on the reports with the Fair Isaac scores are NOT on the regular TU disclosure, the $9 report:

7/11/02
7/15/02
8/28/02
1/8/03
2/18/03
4/1/03 - we have a different name: Slumberland v. WFFNB

Then two 4/21/03 inquiries are listed in the section for inquiries within the last 90 days with the ID info, but they are missing from the listing. The other inquiries in that section ARE listed.

This is as screwed up as it gets - and it is a FCRA violation NOT to disclose all inquiries.

I've had another case of a missing inquiry with TU that caused a LOT of problems.

We definitely have ** 5 ** inquiries that are reported to creditors and Fair Isaac, but not to the consumer.

TU:

They found a computer glitch and are in the process of fixing it. My client's undisclosed inquiries will be recoded to "soft" inquiries.

It sure makes you wonder how this can happen.

My client won't be suing for incomplete disclosure, but how many people were subjected to inquiries w/o permissible purpose and never found out that they had these inquiries because they weren't on the TU consumer disclosures?

Just got a call from TU again, they deleted all the undisclosed inquries and sent my client a new report on Friday.

I asked how many people were affected by this computer glitch, and he didn't know.

I was the first person to bring the problem to their attention, and he thought that maybe it only happened this one time.

However, I had another client several months ago and we also had an inquiry missing.

It sounded like they fixed the problem now, but if you have FICO score reports from the last several months, please do check the inquiries.

I will certainly bring this up in my suit.

They should be sending NEW disclosures to everybody who obtained one of the INCOMPLETE reports.

Also, if they really deleted the inquiries, that's not good - they should have just recoded them.
