Everybody please READ what's already posted here - it's still ok even if it's 3 months old.

SEARCH WORKS!

I really do NOT have the time to explain for the 55th time how to get started after the discharge.

There's How to get started disputing after bankruptcy (http://creditforum.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1737)

Starting new threads is disabled. If you want to know why, please read the ANNOUNCEMENT (http://creditforum.org/announcement.php?s=&forumid=20)

If something new comes up, please post here and I'll split the thread.

THANKS!

Hello,

Me and my new wife are seeking to clean our credit up after 2 years of being in bankruptcy. I did a chp 7 she did a chp 13, due to a long custody battle and me losing my job it was the best and only option for me. Now that we have recovered we are wondering what can be done to help us to the road to recovery. I was just about to sign up to lexington, looking at the site I thought that was an easy way to get started using them to hepl us out, then I read alot of complaint on the web then I was like o man back to point A. Are there any companies that arent out to ripp you off or Is there really something we can do. I really want to do something and will pay a creditable company, or am willing to give a try myself. I just need help or a point in the right direction, if anyone can help me please offer any info you can it will be greatly appreciated thanks

Subscribe to http://creditfactors.com/ and do it yourself.

It's a lot of work. Plan on spending 5 or 10 or 20 hours to read at CreditFactors (depending on the number and type of accounts on your reports), order the *right* reports, and review every piece of data on your reports. Then do only FACTUAL disputes.

You can even post questions at CreditFactors.

Disputing yourself is the ONLY way to do it right because I don't accept new clients right now and I don't know anyone who is competent and works for minimum wage.

I.e. you'd have to pay thousands of dollars to have someone spend 40 or 50 hours on conferring with you about the factual status of the accounts, drafting and submitting disputes, and then reviewing the results and determining what was NOT corrected and outlining your options.

Hello,

We just filed BK 7 on Nov 25th.

$82,678 in CC debt

No assets, 2 cars paid on time with no equity.

No children yet.... currently awaiting infertility testing in Jan 04

I lost my job only have husband income. Have only 3 mos left of unemployment and considering terminating it since I don't think I'm going back to work since my miscarriage in Oct and infertility testing.

Our excess income after all expenses are $220. Not enough to even pay 10% back over 3 years.

We are hoping that they will not push us into a Ch 13 considering our circumstances. (trying to start a family) In that case we wouldnt have any excess at all.

In CA awaiting our 341 hearing on Jan 9, 2004. We know the name of our judge and trustee and are worried on the outcome.

Any opinions?

D

Dear Christine,

I have enjoyed reading through your websites and I can sincerely say that the information you have on your websites are by far the most helpful and accurate information (based on my experience with credit reports). I want to thank you for making all the useful information available.

I had a Chapter 7 bankruptcy discharged in 12/2000. Since then, I was able to obtain a couple of student loans around $5,000 each and a few credit cards with limits less than $1,000.

I have added myself as an authorized user to a couple of family members' cards with good history and limits of 5,000. It has helped my credit score and my current middle credit score is 668. However, I am considering adding myself as authorized user to 5 or more of aged credit cards with good history and limits of 5,000 to 10,000. The balances on these credit cards are low. I think this will definitely give me the boost to my credit score and give me a great FICO score and I will be able to get the mortgage I want.

However I am a bit concerned because once I have so many credit card accounts reporting on my credit (even though I am only authorized user on these accounts), then once I apply for credit cards, even with a great FICO score, is it possible for the credit card companies to think that I already have too many credit cards with high credit limits and they may not want to give me any new cards. When in fact these cards do not belong to me and I am just an authorized user on these cards.

I want to eventually be able to get my own several platinum cards myself. If I add myself as authorized user to many number of (five to ten) credit card accounts (with established, good history), I know my FICO score will go up but, will it hurt my ability to obtain new credit cards for myself?

Thanks

Can having too many authorized user accounts (8 to 10
with credit limits of 5 to 10 thousand each with zero
balances) make it harder to obtain credit cards under
my own name? ( because the credit card companies will
think that I have so many lines of revolving credit
with.)

Thanks
