BK fees

I know this question varies with the location you're in and the complexity of your BK but can anyone give me a ballpark figure from the least to most expensive an attorney can charge to file a BK?

$200 to $2,000 for a simple Ch. 7 in San Francisco.

I live in San Jose which is about 40 min from there and the attorney I met charges $600-$700 for my case which involves $17K of debt. Do you think that's reasonable? And also would you happen to refer me to any trustworthy attorneys you know in the Bay Area who charges reasonably?

I haven't lived in the Bay Area since 98, and I can't say that I can recommend anyone.

$600 or so isn't bad.

I've talked to several attorneys and I have about 12K cc debt and 17K secured debt. I live in southern california. The fees are about the same from 600-800 not including the filing fee of 185$. My attorney is charging 675 for a chpt. 7 and 1700 for a chpt. 13. The chpt. 13 rate is pretty standard throughout the county here.
You've gotta have an attorney though, don't file with one of those online software programs.
